We grabbed a local taxi in to town and checked a few hotels before we decided which was the best.. This one did however, not provid us with any bedsheets, blankets, towels or toiletpaper, nor any breakfast in the mornings.
We walked down to the harbourarea and found an open place with resturant tents. They had their fishes in a styrofoambox for our own choise. The food was delicious ! This evening I also got my self a “flirt”. The owners daughter, around 3 years old, was very charming and played around our table all the time.
During this dinner a local NGO person attended. He will hovever not be able to show us around tomorrow but will help us with a person that will.
Went back to the hotel and fell asleep.

We rented a taxi for the whole day, to be able to travel around and check up for the LCA.
We had a meeting with the citydistrict governor and his staff. They answered all our questions and informed us about their status at the moment about food and watersupply. They also informed us about the Quake that 2004 took 34 persons life and totally damaged the infrastructure.
We also had the chance to take a look at the local vanilla fabrik, that at the moment had a new product for the market. Vanillahoney ! After this we got some lunch.
The afternon we got off so we drove around and watched the city and also ended up at the tip of the western part of this island. A few hundred meters out there was a tiny little island, basically just a beach. We asked a local to take us there for a afternoon swim. On this island there where a divingcenter owned by a french guy. We talked for a while and once he realised my diving skills he offered me to join for a dive. Unfortunately, I had to say no since I will fly within 24 hours. Damned, this felt bad. It would have been a great thing to do this dive. We instead hired some masks and fins so that we atleast could do snorkeling onver the corral reef. Fantastic scenes down ther I can tell.No underwater camera with me so you need to trust my words on it.....Like swimming in a saltwater akvaruim.
Once back at the hotel, we had a quick shower and walked down to the harbour for dinner again. Guess if there was a little girl that got happy when we arrived. I had one of these little keyring flashlight in my pocket that I gave her. That made her day !!
She got sad though when we left. Once back at the hotel we finished our LCA report
Felt some sunfever and headace so I entered the bed once we where done.

We are to be picked up by the driver that drove us yesterday at 07:30 to get some breakfast before flying back to Timor and Kupang. At 08:00 still no driver had showed up so we grabbed a local little minivan driven by a youngster. While we had our breakfast he changed a tire that had a flat. The new one needed air aswell so once we where in the van he aimed for airservice. He also had to get a permit, for a small sum of money to be able to go all the way out to the airport with us. Luckily the flight was delayed 30 minutes.
10:00 a clock we were airborn heading for Kupang. WFP driver picked us up and let us of at the office for more work with LCA.
We got a hotel downtown close to the shore so we had dinner at Teddys that night. On this bar there was a tournament between Kupang and Northen Australian territories. Watched it for a short period before we had to go to sleep. Will have to go up early tomorrow.

My phone wakes me up at 04:45. A quick shower and breakfast before the driver will pick us up at 05:30 to take us to the airport. Today we will fly to the island Flores and the city Maumere. On this trip Nick will not join us since he will have a few days vacation together with he´s wife on Bali, just around the corner. Poor him.....!
Flores is a much bigger island then Alor and is located west, nortwest from Timor and Kupang.
This time we fly with a Foker 100 wich is a bit bigger than last trip.
We are to try to make a LCA here as well.
Once we arrive we pretty much do the same things as we did in Alor.
Later that day we finished of the LCA in the hotel before we realised that it is a bit late and time for some dinner. We realise that the resturants in the area is closed due ti late hours and we did not really felt for going around in a Taxi so we decided to eat from a local chuck wagon. Not recomended du to sanitary reasons but......
We picked some lambsticks that they bbq´d for us meanwhile we bought some beer. The food was delicious and after this we whent strait home to bed.
