Looking for additional possibilities

We need to feed approximately 2 million people every day. Right now we are rucking the goods from the ports of Santo Domingo to Haiti, but it takes a long time to get the food to the beneficiaries. Shipping is much faster, so soon we will transport a whole lot of food into Haiti with ships.

This is the reason WFP is bringing in specialists like Eric Mora. Eric is not a WFP staff member but a specialist they hire when they need to find out whether other ports can be used for shipping food in the quantities required for Haiti.

He checks the ports' safety, loading conditions, depth of the harbor, border control etc. Manzanillo, the name of a harbor here, has a good chance of being used as additional harbor.
