TNT Office in Santa Domingo

Yesterday I visited the local TNT office in Santa Domingo. It is not a very big operation, they export only about 16 shipments a week and have an import of about 200. They have only four dedicated persons and the delivery is done by the cars they are using also for their own use.

In the Dominica Republic TNT uses an agent called “Vimenpaq”. The agent also works for Transexpress, IBexpress, UPS, FEDEX, DHL and there own company Expreso Nacional.

Just like in every operation environment there are the little problems with delivering on time, especially when the shipments are stuck on a different airport to send over to SDQ.

Off course I was willing to help and bring them in contact with Junior Chambers, the responsible Service Quality Supervisor for NAM.

Looking inside their office I found there was a lot of advertising material for DHL, and UPS, but nothing for TNT. I promised them when I’m back in the Netherlands I will send them some stuff to color the office orange.
