Employees at TNT Express China have demonstrated the power of personal engagement.
About 1,500 employees took part recently in a unique engagement campaign to stimulate a reduction of CO2 emissions at home. The badge redemption campaign, called “Me in Family”, encouraged employees and their family members to ‘green’ their day-to-day lives by adopting 10 environmentally positive behaviours.
The behaviours included growing a potted plant, installing energy saving lights, foregoing the ‘standby’ function on electric equipment, opting for public transport and categorising waste.
Employees were mailed guide books with inspiring environmentally friendly ideas and the best practices of their colleagues. With the completion of each environmental action, employees received a recognition badge.
The incentive to go green? Employees who collected all 10 badges were eligible to win a “renovation fund” of US$ 1,500. The cash reward, naturally, was designed to stimulate the purchase of environmentally friendly home improvements.
TNT China said it’s now piloting the same environmental engagement campaign among some of its customers – with resounding success.
The Me in Family campaign supports TNT’s global environmental commitment, Planet Me, and is an excellent example of its employee engagement efforts under Choose Orange.
