Human Centered Design

The uniqueness of the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, Delft University of Technology, lies in its human centred approach. Human needs are the central driving force uniting technology and business. By tradition our Faculty has propagated the practise of designing products and services to meet the human needs. The BoP strategy has stimulated us to look also at the needs of the underserved, which represent a huge market.

The research methods used in Dharavi are based on the Context mapping tools from TU Delft, the Human Centered Design Toolkit from design firm IDEO, and the Business Model Generation.

Aim of these context mapping methods is to get deeper insights on the daily life and needs of the local businesses.

...And off course a Sari helped us blend in more with the local community :)
