Life after Gambia

Written by Manuela Leenders

Confronting, a trip I'll never forget and learned a lot.... this are the 3 words I've used to begin my first storytelling to my direct collegues and family about The Gambia.

Having said these words I realised immediatly that behind each word, there was so much more to tell, there was so much passion in my voice ; I knew this was about to become a real necessity for me to try to give people the same feeling as I have.  Allthough I'm convinced I never will be able to give my environment the copy paste of my experience it's really fantastic to see the effect on people when telling about our trip.  And shame on me, I thought many TNT collaborators wouldn't be that interested because of the current situtation we're in, economical crisis, changes, and perhaps even more.  Nevertheless I underestimated the believe TNT people have for the schoolfeeding program and the North Star Alliance project.  I saw the opposite reactions, enthousiasm and longing for more stories.  After reading our previous blogs you can imagine this feels great!

It's also so great to see that my fellow fieldtrippers are experiencing the same reactions.

I look forward starting the real storytelling and combining it with fundraising.  Ideas about fundraising are very welcome!
