Employee fundraising

Our employees raise funds to assist the WFP in its Global School Feeding Campaign - a scheme that encourages children to attend school by offering them nutritious meals. Over the past five years, TNT employees have raised over €9 million to support WFP.

For over five years, TNT employees have invented a wide range of fun and effective fundraising activities including bike and relay race sports tournaments, raffles and auctions and more off-beat activities like hair-painting and duck races. Employees started numerous initiatives among different TNT divisions including the TNT Express Hunger weeks, the TNT Corporate Audit Services fundraising event in Scotland called "30 hours of noice", and Freight Management division fundraising dinners.

Since 2003, TNT employees have raised over €9 million which is used to support School Feeding projects in the five twinning countries: Cambodia, The Gambia, Malawi, Nicaragua, and Tanzania.

Raised funds have also been used for a number of projects:

• to cover critical shortfalls in WFP School Feeding Projects in Nepal where sustainable improvements in food security were needed for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people;
• to support School Feeding projects in war-torn Sudan and Malawi;
• to feed hospitalised victims of the Beslan school hostage crisis with funds raised by TNT Russia employees;
• to fund TNT and WFP's joint tsunami relief efforts with money raised by TNT staff in Asia.
