About us

In December 2002, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and TNT launched a groundbreaking partnership aimed at a single common goal: fighting world hunger. This partnership was given the name Moving the World.

Since five years the dedicated members of the Moving the World team are successfully running the TNT-WFP partnership. Together with TNT employees they are putting their hearts and minds to work to contribute to the alleviation of poverty all over the world.

  • How did it start?

    The origins of our partnership with the WFP are now legendary within TNT. While on a flight to Sydney, Australia, in November 2001, our CEO Peter Bakker was reading an article that quoted a horrifying statistic: every five seconds somewhere in this world a child dies from hunger. more
