Since 2002, TNT has been an active partner of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), the world's largest humanitarian aid agency. Each year, WFP provides food aid to an average of 90 million people, including 56 million children, in more than 80 countries. Unfortunately, that is not enough. The struggle to feed the hungry is immense. Today, one in almost six people knows what it is like to go to bed hungry. 1 billion people do not have enough to eat, which makes hunger and malnutrition the world’s biggest risk to health.
Since 2002, TNT has committed its knowledge, skills and resources to support WFP in its life saving effort. To date TNT has invested €38 million in the partnership in the form of hands-on support in emergencies, knowledge transfer projects to help WFP to be more efficient and effective, and advocacy and fundraising activities. On top of this, TNT employees have raised an additional €9 million for WFP’s School Feeding Projects.
TNT is not a humanitarian organisation. However, as a global service provider operating in more than 200 countries, we are intensely aware of the pressing challenges facing our planet. And armed with this knowledge we are convinced that our contribution to our world must go beyond the current norms for corporate responsibility; for the sake of our company and employees, and for the sake of the planet.

The UN World Food Programme is an outstanding logistics entity, with an expertise in ensuring that food and supplies get to places that are difficult to reach. WFP is dependent on voluntary donations from governments and other parties to fund their life-saving work. The focus on saving lives can restrict investment in other areas like management systems and training. These areas are crucial to a commercial company's efficiency and effectiveness. more
TNT is aiming to manage its business with respect for its impact on society and the environment in all the communities in which it operates. Ultimately, this means taking its share of responsibility by doing all it can to preserve and improve the world for future generations. more
