So far, TNT has supported WFP through 30 emergencies, including 10 emergency airlifts, trained more than 1,000 WFP staff, helped more than 1,000,000 school children and funded 58,000,000 school meals.
At the beginning of 2008, TNT's CEO Peter Bakker pledged TNT's "never-ending" commitment to continue to support WFP's activities - a pledge that was gratefully received by WFP's new Executive Director Josette Sheeran who commented: "I am a true believer in the difference TNT continues to make in the fight against hunger."
