Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. The full extent of the damage is still unknown, but thousands of people are feared dead and hundreds of thousands are thought to have been injured. Millions of people are without food, in a country where nearly 2 million were already classified as food insecure.
The World Food Programme (WFP) is already on the ground, mobilising all available resources in the region to bring urgently needed food aid. WFP has requested TNT’s support in its relief efforts. We have joined forces with logistics providers UPS and Agility to assist in any way possible. While no concrete actions have been taken, it's likely that we will be involved in the emergency relief efforts soon.
At this stage, it's too early to know if any TNT colleagues have been affected by this disaster. We will share this information as soon as we have confirmation.
The scale of this earthquake is being compared to the Asian tsunami that struck in 2004. Given the level of devastation, WFP is urging everyone to help in the relief efforts by making monetary contributions. We urge you to help, if you can, by making a personal donation here:

Please cascade this message to your colleagues. Together, we can provide much-needed support to those suffering in Haiti.
