TNT’s emission free building is a reality. Our new corporate head office was completed in March 2011 and it provides space for almost 900 employees, visiting partners and colleagues from all over the world colleagues, who can work and connect everywhere throughout the building.

Green bicycles come to Brussels

Last week, TNT Express Benelux successfully launched its first inner-city ‘green’ bicycle in Brussels. The electric-powered freight bicycle, known as a ‘cyclocargo’, will cut TNT’s CO2 emission output by 400 kilograms per week.

TNT Express deploys 15 electric vehicles in Paris

16 September 2010 – TNT Express France is deploying 15 zero emission electric vehicles for parcel deliveries in Paris, including one Modec truck, two cars, and twelve 3-wheelers. The “Maxitrikes” electric tricycles are perfect for dodging traffic jams. Each one has a volume capacity of 2 m3 and can carry up to 175 lbs. TNT will use them to deliver about 20,000 parcels (below 30 kg) per month to some 12,000 Parisian customers. The Modec truck, with its payload of 2 tonnes, will be used for bigger deliveries.

TNT unveils China’s first fully electric delivery fleet

TNT, the leading global international express company, today unveiled the industry’s first pure electric vehicle fleet in China. The fleet further bolsters the company’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the express industry.

Initially comprised of five vehicles, the electric vehicle fleet is produced by Dongfeng Motor, one of China’s leading automobile manufacturers. The vehicles are entirely locally sourced, including design, manufacturing and assembly.

TNT Express greens Dutch and Belgian fleets

175 environmental friendly Mercedes Sprinter vans will replace the entire fleet of delivery vans at TNT's Dutch express business and half of the delivery vans at its Belgian operations, Logistiek reported. 'TNT Express initially considered choosing for natural gas-powered or electric delivery vans, however decided in favour of the Mercedes Benz Sprinter with clean Euro 5 EEV diesel motors.

TNT China launches first electric vehicles

Recently, two TNT China drivers set-off from the Shanghai Pudong depot for a 70-kilometre trip to pick-up and deliver customer goods. But this trip was unlike any other: their vehicles consumed no fuel, released zero CO2 emissions, accelerated efficiently and made little noise.

The drivers were the first to operate the latest additions to the TNT China delivery fleet:
two zero-emission “pure electric” vehicles.

TNT helps develop sustainable trucks

17 May 2010 - In the last four weeks, TNT participated in a number of tests with aerodynamic SideWings which help reduce noise, CO2 emissions, and fuel consumption of trucks. These tests reiterate TNT's commitment to PART20, a platform which develops aerodynamic devices by combining the know-how of scientists from the Technical University of Delft with the practical experience from partners in the transportation industry.

China campaign stimulates ‘green’ employee habits

Employees at TNT Express China have demonstrated the power of personal engagement.

About 1,500 employees took part recently in a unique engagement campaign to stimulate a reduction of CO2 emissions at home. The badge redemption campaign, called “Me in Family”, encouraged employees and their family members to ‘green’ their day-to-day lives by adopting 10 environmentally positive behaviours.
