Today I began at 6 am, at the Helipad Base. I was in charge of 8 rotations by helicopters which includes the freight and UN passengers. More than 10 000 Mt of Emergency Cholera kit, has been provided to hospitals in Haiti and especially for Port de Paix, Cap Haitien and other cities without road access due to earthquake

2010 has been a disastrous year for Haiti. In January, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti and devastated the capital city, Port-au-Prince. Reportedly, more than 230,000 people were killed and millions were left homeless. With the country anything but recovered, disaster struck again with an outbreak of cholera in October. To date, more than 1,000 people have died from the epidemic and 17,000 people are hospitalised. On top of everything, in early November hurricane Tomas hit the nation, causing widespread flooding.
